Who We Are

Venturing into Entrepreneurship and Agricultural Innovation

Ramesh Reddy Basanthapur was born on November 30, 1989, to Narsimha Reddy, a farmer, and Manjula. Following the completion of his primary and secondary education in India, he pursued his undergraduate degree within the country before making the decision to further his studies by undertaking an MBA in New Zealand.

Upon the completion of his MBA program, he chose to return to India. He embarked on his professional journey in the corporate sector and eventually delved into entrepreneurship by founding his own company, OKTIQ GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES PVT LTD, which specializes in digital marketing. Driven by his passion for agriculture, he aimed to diversify beyond conventional crops in a manner that would be advantageous to small-scale farmers. Through extensive research and travel across India, as well as countries such as Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and the United States, he amassed a collection of 80 distinct varieties of Dragon Fruit and initiated their cultivation.

Notably, Ramesh Reddy Basanthapur attained the distinction of being the first individual in Asia to successfully cultivate 80 different varieties of Dragon Fruit. He is also recognized as the first person in India to produce wine derived from Dragon Fruit. Furthermore, he embarked on the venture of producing various by-products from Dragon Fruits, including items such as jam, squash, jellies, cosmetics like lip balm, soaps, scrubs, and more.

Currently, Ramesh Reddy Basanthapur actively participates in supporting tribal communities in India by distributing free Dragon Fruit plants in collaboration with Professor Dr. Padmayya. This initiative not only raises awareness among underprivileged farmers but also enables them to enhance their income through Dragon Fruit cultivation, which demonstrates significant market potential.

In terms of financial performance, his annual turnover amounts to approximately 2 Crore Rupees, generated from the sale of Dragon Fruit plants, the fruits produced on his farm, as well as the sale of by-products like Dragon Fruit wine and cosmetics derived from this unique fruit.
